The Best Moisturizers

What Are the Best Moisturizers? - Associated Content from Yahoo ...

Are you just plain fed up trying to find the best moisturizers for dry skin? If you need a moisturizer for your dry skin, it's important that you know about the essential oils that make skin moisturizers effective.

To make sure your lotions and creams contain ingredients that help dry skin, it's important to educate yourself on ingredients that work and don't work.

The best moisturizers for dry skin contain a number of nourishing substances whereas the average skin care products contain mostly mineral oil.

For instance, mineral oil is an ingredient that you definitely do not want in your products. It goes by various names like liquid paraffin, paraffin wax and petrolatum but all it is is a cheap filler and unhealthy.

Even though it feels like it's moisturizing your skin, in actuality, the petroleum by-product only coats the skin to keep in moisture and fools you into thinking it works.

And it's far from being healthy for your skin; mineral oil has known health hazards. Here are just a few: it clogs pores, prevents skin from eliminating toxins, strips away natural oils from the skin causing dryness and also premature aging.

Unlike mineral oil (which is not at all similar to the skin's natural oils), what you really want from the best moisturizers for dry skin are healthy natural oils that provide moisture and aren't harmful to your health. You want natural oils that are very similar to those produced by the skin, are well accepted, penetrate quickly and do not cause greasiness.

Here are a few essential oils your must know about:

a Grapeseed Oil -- a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals. It creates an invisible film on your skin to keep in moisture and is especially effective for repairing and maintaining the skin's health and appearance.

a Avocado Oil -- a rich and deeply-penetrating oil which has healing and moisturizing properties. A powerful anti-oxidant loaded with high levels of chlorophyll, vitamin E and omegas 3 and 9 to increase your skin's health and strength.

Make no mistake about it. The best moisturizers for dry skin that are safe, healthy and effective are from a high quality skin care company located in New Zealand. A company committed to using only natural ingredients like those mentioned in this article.

    • california_ck says:

there is one called pink oil that you can find at african beauty supplies, i have dry hair from dyeing alot and i been using pink oil for 3 years. no split ends or dry, frizzenes. it works good, just rub some into your hands and smoothe into your hair, its the best moisterizer.
      http://www.ebonyline.com/pinoilmoislo.html

check out the website , it tells you what it does. Oh yea , if anyone tells you about sunsilk, pantene or any other conditioners like that , it wont work ,those things are just wash n dry , you need a moisterizer that stays in your hair and moisterize, that’s why pink oil works. i’ve tried sunsilk ,it is pure garbage

Best tinted moisturizers and concealers at the drugstore?
Do you know any tinted moisturizers that work really well and are inexpensive from the drugstore?

And the same for the concealer. But is there any that are not in a wand or a pallat? I want a concealer that is like a liquid push pencil or something like that. Thanks.

Also, if you know any that DO NOT test on animals that would be so much better. If you don’t know if they do or not don’t worry about it because I will check.

What are the best moisturizers and deep conditioners for black hair?
I’m stretching my perm for the summer. In order to do so I need moisturizer ( I think with oil ) and deep conditioner. What product should I use? And any other products for stretching my perm?

    • Joss says:

Try a cleansing conditioner. You can use it everyday as a leave-in and it’ll help your hair retain moisture, which is what’s needed for your new growth. You should also wash with it because it’ll help your relaxed hair retain moisture and it won’t dry out your hair like shampoo. There are high-end and cheaper ones, so buy what’s best for your budget. I personally think the expensive ones are superior and I’ve used both cheap and expensive. WEN cleansing conditioner is my fav. Use the Fig formula if you have dry or damaged hair. It’s good for all hair types.

What’s the best moisturizer for preventing stretch marks?
Hi. I was wondering if anyone could give me tips on what the best creams or moisturizers you have found in preventing stretch marks, and helping elasticity in the skin? Want to get nice & moisturized early on so I can GROW! Thanks.

Palmer’s cocoa butter formula….. tummy butter. its in a 2 inch tall, round can, with a lid. it is designed for stretch marks. its a waxy type stuff, but once on skin, it turns soft, and lightly oily. it not only feels so good on, but smells Absolutely wonderful. it is the best stuff i have ever found. and not expensive at all. i get it at walmart….about 7 $, if i put it on 2 times a day, it will last for about a week. it is great stuff. i am a model for sport magazines, and i have some, but very unnoticeable. and i got big during my pregnancy…try it…im sure you wont be disappointed/

What is the best face moisturizer for mature/dry skin?
I was using sun screen every day as a moisturizer but realize that isn’t doing the trick. I need a good moisturizer for daytime and maybe a different one for nighttime. Any suggestions appreciated. I don’t care if it is expensive as long as it gives results. If there is one with a high SPF, that would be great too.

What are the best facial moisturizers for women of color?
I’m new to this but I’m not a fan of facial makeup, but I want that gorgeous glow you see in the faces of Jada Pinkett and Queen Latifah. I was considering using Jergens Daily Glow Moisturizer but I heard that it darkens your skin…not a fan of that! So any suggestions?

    Best moisturizers for dry face?
I have tried every single kind of face lotion from aveeno, to estee lauder, lancome, and clinique. They do not seem to hydrate for long. After I apply my foundation throughout the day my face dries out again badly. I do use night creams and moisturizers with sun protection under foundation. Does anyone else have this problem? what do you use?

    • Juana J says:

Ditto on the Cetaphil. If you want to go natural, try olive oil facials. You can do a search for tutorials on you tube.

What are the best moisturizers that aren’t tested on animals?
No pacific kind, just ones that makes your skin really nice.

    • tè verde says:

Try Lush, The Body Shop, Yves Rocher, Clinique or The Origins that claimed not to test on animals. You will have to find one that is suitable for your skin type and needs (eg. hydration / anti-aging & etc). All moisturizers are supposed to moisturize your skin leaving it soft and tender but using the wrong one can create problems like break outs or greasiness and etc.

Lush do have products for vegans so I guess it should be the safest on not testing on animals.

You can try this and see if it helps. Once a week take a milk bath it will nourish and smoothen your skin. Mix two table spoons of milk powder in your bucket of water and use it for bathing and rinse with plain water in the end. What is the best moisturizer for extremely dry skin? Liquidy or Cream based moisturizers?
& what product names? I have extremely dry skin!

    • Amy N says:

You can buy a cream at pharmacies but you have to ask for it. It’s called Lac- Hydrin and your skin will feel like butter. It’s a latic acid cream so it takes about a week at least to see results. If your skin is extremely sensitive, it may too much for you but skin is slightly sensitive and it’s fine. It will sting if you put it over broken skin though.

    • Haven says:

Eucerin, Aveeno are good brands. They each make special lotions/moisturizers for different symptoms.
As for soap, I use Dove Unscented on my daughter (she has eczema) because that’s what the doc recommended..

I think the very best thing is baby oil rubbed into wet skin and patted dry. Cheap and intensively moisturising.

Best moisturizers and primers?-Daily make up routine?-?
heeey. Well I have a few questions about daily make up routines. All I do is I put on maybelline dream matte mousse and then pressed powder over top. I have heard about primers and moisturizers and I was wondering if you really need them. Also if you suggest it, which ones work best?I do not know if the dream matte mousse is great so any suggestions would be appreciated! thanks alot!

    • Annoynomous says:

Hey :) Well Primers are not necessary, they are basically used to keep the foundatin and make-up on your face for a longer period of time. I use both a face and eye primer from M.A.C ( Paint pot at M.A.C) for school because i dont have time to touch up between classes and lunch. You definatly should use a moisturizer before apply make-up, this wont help the make-up stay on, but it will help you skin stay healthier from the thickness of the foundation and the elements of everyday life. I too have The Mayballine matte foundation, and it does look really nice, thats the thing about matte, but its really thick and clogs your pores. Matte products are for on screen make-up, for pictures and video, its what make-up artists use on Stars and ect. Go for a ligh liquid foundation for medium coverage. Like Cover girls true blend, or A stick like M.A.C, (which i use.) If you want more sheer coverage, (if you have freckles and all) use a powdered foundation. However, for you i would recomend a tinted moisturizer. Same as a foundation, but is a full on moisturizer with SPF 15. Kinda rare, but you can get a big bottle for 40 dollars At Merle Norman. But before, just ask your local drugstore … person? and ask for tinted moissturizers. Just remember to always always was your face before you go to bed. Clenser, Toner, moisturizer, sleep. In the morning, just wash your face with water only, (some clensers make peoples fave blotchy and red.) apply make-up and go. :)

      Hope I helped. Lover: Marissa
